Whole Pig, Half Pig, Pork by the Cut, and Suckling Pig Orders are available.

Whole and half orders are custom orders and the cuts are specified by you. We will be glad to consult with you regarding your order and are always available to answer any questions you may have about your options and selections.

Suckling pig orders are only available in advance, and pork by the cut orders are subject to availability.

What’s a Whole/ Half Order?

Belmond Farm offers customized butchering from a certified organic USDA facility allowing you to make the decisions regarding your purchase – everything from cuts of pork to thickness of chops and type of packaging.

No Hormones, No Antibiotics, Never any Nitrates.

   

With a live weight of 240 pounds and a yield of around 70%, the typical hanging weight for a hog will be 184 pounds. This will produce approximately 140 pounds of meat (this total will depend on your butchering choices) so a half order is usually about 70lbs.

So what ends up in your freezer?   Here is an example of how much you can get from half a pig:

About 20 pork chops, 2 roasts, 1 fresh or smoked ham, about 8 lbs of bacon,

3 lbs of spare ribs, 9 lbs of ground pork for sausage or patties. Smoking shrinks meat, so smoked sausage products will mean you have less ground pork to use because the smoking is done before the sausages are made.

All in all you, will end up with between 60 and 70 lbs of pork from a half share. Don't have room in your freezer? Split it with someone who loves naturally raised pork as much as you do!

A whole pig order is naturally twice this much, but you can specify your cuts for the two halves separately to get a lot of different kinds of cuts. For instance, sacrifice some roasts to get more sausage.
